Who We Are

The Election Funding Authority is constituted as a corporation with the corporate name of the Election Funding Authority of New South Wales.

The New South Wales Electoral Commission is the administrative unit through which the Election Funding Authority exercises its statutory responsibilities.

The Election Funding Authority consists of:

  1. The New South Wales Electoral Commissioner as Chairperson;
  2. A member appointed on the nomination of the Premier of New South Wales; and 
  3. A member appointed on the nomination of the Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Assembly.

The term of office for appointed members of the Election Funding Authority commences 6 months after the return of the Writs for the previous State election until 6 months after the return of the Writs for the next State election. Members may be re-appointed.
